Day to Day Information
Book Loan Scheme
Coláiste Naomh Cormac has in operation a Book Loan Scheme, whereby each student may hire the text books required for the year. A small fee is payable each September. This fee will cover the cost of books and no further cost is required, provided the books are returned in a reasonable condition at the end of the school year. This facility greatly reduces the cost to parents, particularly where a number of members of a family attend the school. Copies, stationery etc. must be provided by the students, as they are not included in this rental scheme.
Supervised Evening Study
Supervised Evening Study is available after school each evening from 3.30pm - 5.20pm. This facility provides an appropriate environment to complete homework and study. Places are limited and operate on a first come, first served basis.
Assisted Homework Club
Students can receive help with their homework on Monday and Thursday each week from 3.30pm to 4.30pm. This facility is organised with the co-operation of the Offaly Local Development Company and is under the guidance of Darina Coughlan.
The Lunch Box
Freshly cooked hot nutritious food is available to students at Morning Break and Lunchtime.
School Library
We actively promote our School Library as an inviting centre of learning. This facility is a valuable resource in the preparation for examination
School Transport
A Comprehensive School Transport Scheme is available to eligible students. Details are available during enrolments.
School Uniform
Navy corded slacks, Navy jumper with sky blue trim and school crest, Sky blue polo shirt and Navy fleece with school crest (optional). Students must wear regular black shoes within and around the school building. Trainers (or sports boots) must be worn when on grassy areas.
School Journal
In addition to the necessary books, copies, equipment etc., all students must possess the official School Journal, which may only be purchased from the school. This Journal will not only serve as a record of the students progress, but will also provide an effective means of communication between school and home. The Journal also contains the school rules, charter, calendar and information relating to school life.
Insurance
The school operates a 24 hour cover for each individual student. The policy not only provides insurance for injuries suffered during games or other school related activities, but provides extensive cover at home, at recreation or other activities related to the school.
Lockers
A locker and key is provided for each student to safeguard their personal belongings. These lockers can be used to store books, sports equipment, class materials etc.
